De oplossing: We've developed a low-cost system for indoor and outdoor navigation, finding building entrances, and crowdsourced maps for widely-available accessible wayfinding. Our system consists of three main components: a crowd-source powered iOS app for navigation and mapping, a low-profile cross-body phone holder that allows the use of our navigation app hands-free without looking conspicuous, and a custom-made Bluetooth remote controller to operate VoiceOver on a phone while it's in the cross-body holder. Our system has been evaluated in several pilot locations, and we have many ideas to improve our work.
