The real estate and construction sectors have a significant impact on the environment due to the sheer size of the supply chain and the volume of assets. As a result, Emaar has established goals that align with the Sustainable Development Goals and are continuously working towards their achievement.
This challenge involves how we construct buildings and how we use them in an environmentally friendly way, that works towards the SDGs. The solution may address one or several of the examples below:
1. Day-to-day energy use that comes from powering lighting, heating, and cooling.
2. Manufacturing building materials, transporting materials to construction sites, and the actual construction process.
3. Waste management systems both during construction and operation.
What are we looking for?
- Efficient use of natural resources
- Energy optimization
- Reutilization of material, energies, waste, etc.
- Support for a sustainable and circular economy using the local supply chain
- End user focus: an improved customer experience. How can our clients feel proud of their property terms of sustainability?
- Solutions that are in-line with the Global Sustainable Development Goals
What are we not looking for?
- Solutions that are still in the idea phase
- Vendor lock-in solutions
- Solutions that are not cost effective
- Solutions that require a big capital investment from the client’s side for a Pilot Project
- Solutions that are difficult to implement logistically
- Solutions with no track record of success
What is there to win?
- Launching customer for your proposition with Emaar in Dubai
- Network of other construction developers in Dubai (in cooperation with the Dubai Foundation Program)
Rules to participate
- Participant should be a registered company.
- Innovative solution should comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Participant should have the ability to demonstrate a working prototype/product/service.
- Solution must be scalable.
- Solution should be implementable within a max. of a 6-months period.
The pitch (one pager with your pitch plus 5-6 background pages or slides) This submission is for evaluation purposes. During pitch day, finalists will be able to use a more comprehensive pitch deck.
You may submit a pitch for each challenge, but you will only pitch once in the finals!

You may submit the pitch as a presentation deck or in a letter format in English. The file must be uploaded as a pdf file (landscape or portrait A4, max. 30MB). Likes to videos, examples, websites, etc. may also be included.
